College Apartment British Coffee Table

My daughter needed a small living room set for her small off campus apartment. The Union Jack coffee table was made from 1 pallet. (The 2 end tables were made from another pallet. They were painted with the Italian flag and Germany flag to complete the International theme, since she is an International Studies major.)
To make the coffee table, I cut the pallet in half along the center support. Then used the loose boards to form the legs.
After painting the entire table white, I taped out the red and blue areas to paint.
Everyone has liked it, but most importantly, my daughter loves it.
Hardest part working with pallets was dealing with splinters and warped boards.

  • This is such a cool and personal project! Your daughter must have been thrilled, and what great conversation pieces! This is definitely an inspiration-worthy project. It really shows how creative you can get with a pallet, tools and some paint. No doubt you'll be getting lots of requests for these down the road!
