I started this project because of the upcoming football season of the Kansas State Wildcats. We are big tailgaters and are always playing games of some sort. Bean bag toss has always been a popular game but I had always wanted to try and build my own. As I started the project I go more and more creative with it. One thing I wanted to do was to make the entire set collapsible, so I offset the two by fours underneath so both boards would fit together, then simply added carriage bolts on one end so it would slide together then a couple of latches on the other side. I also wanted legs that would fold out, so I used a jig saw to round out the ends so they would come out easily. At the end of the project I had decided to use a wood stain instead of paint because I love how the stain brings out the natural grain patterns in the wood. After I painted on my logo's I used polyurethane so it would be protected on the hard weather game days.
