This piece was inspired by my mother-in-law and all that she loves about Christmas-- family, fun, gifts and decorations. As a breast cancer survivor she cherishes every day and celebrates life, especially at Christmastime! I wanted to give her something special and personal to her. I thought of her when I chose each piece of the scene: the background scene with the glow of real lights behind each window; the animals that she loves; the brightly lit Christmas tree and of course, the gifts!
To start, I cut the wood pieces to size using my Ryobi One circular saw and jig saw and routed the edges on my Ryobi router table. The background scene was blown up and copied to hard stock. The tiny lights are hot glued to the backside with the battery pack in the back. Lastly, the snow and statuettes were glued to the base.
The recipe is simple: Wood+Work+Love
