In our church, 2 sections of choir members faced each other instead of facing the congregation. The church was built that way in 1956, but they wanted to change that. I made a photo-shop image of what could be done and they said go ahead. Many members helped tear out the old infrastructure. A couple of members helped to build the new riser sections. Most of the work was done with my two Ryobi 18-volt power drills. The whole structure is screwed together to avoid squeaks years later. Hardwood flooring was installed. I cut pews and privacy railings to fit the new configuration. The choir is happy.
