Having chickens is a great way to get the freshest and best eggs available, I see them as a food source but the kids see them as pets. So to keep the chickens happy and healthy they need ample room to run around, and what better way to give them that space then to use the ugly side of my neighbors fence. With two 4x4's in place and level I just needed to add two more and connect them all together. With the fence blocking the elements from the south I installed tinted plastic roofing and chicken wire to protect them from rain, snow, and predators. Since I'm not one to go out and feed them at the crack of dawn every day I built a feeder and waterer out of 4" PVC and mounted them on the center post so they can eat and drink whenever they want.
