This table was my first 'big build', as I have recently taken up woodworking. As an engineer, I take pride in designing my own plans and coming up with my own ideas, and as a DIY-er, this project was perfect. The biggest challenge I faced was getting my cuts to be the perfect length, as I am still learning about how the saw blade thickness affects your cut. But I managed to get my table square and level, which made me very proud. The icing on the cake was seeing the finished product with stain and poly - it turned out to be gorgeous.

My friends still can't believe I made this all on my own, which makes me feel great and like I can make anything I put my mind to.

This project was a great lesson in using clamps to assemble a lot of pieces, and learning how to 'trim out' a piece of furniture. I can't wait for my next build.
