Cherry Kitchen Table and Bench

After looking over tables being sold locally I hadn't really found the right mix of classic and farmhouse that appealed to me. So the hubby and I set off to the local hardwood dealer to find the right wood. We settled on cherry because of the way it ages to a nice deep red and got started. I used linseed oil on the table and switched to danish oil for the bench as it was more matte. We have left the table in direct sunlight as much as possible and it is already starting to darken. So excited to watch it age! Side note, the math figuring out how to cut X legs is not fun lol.

  • Who needs to buy a table when you can build one this beautiful?! Great choice on cherry, and you nailed the details on the table legs!

  • The X legs are not really my style but I really love the look of that cherry breadboard. Did you mortise that out? Do you have anymore photos of the process?
