This one was a quick and easy little project. When I was in the Navy we had a fun tradition of exchanging challenge coins of various commands/ships while we traveled. Over the years I grew a nice little collection, but I've never had anything to display them with. I've seen friends with some fancy displays, but wanted my own. So, I made it. Took a piece of yellow pine 2x6 and cut it into three pieces. The middle piece got a 10 deg miter cut on both sides and the corresponding edges on the flat pieces got the same. Next, I took a 1/4" router bit and set it just above a 1/4" in depth and ran it through at pre-measured distances for the grooves to hold the coins and then took a roman ogie bit to give it a fancy border. Stained it in dark cherry.
