Chair Bench

When I left teaching I took two very sweet chairs with me from my classroom reading nook. I had no use for them here in my house, but I couldn’t bear to get rid of them. In their 12 years with me, I’d repainted and recovered the seats three times. Each time I saw a new, fun fabric, they got a makeover, and they’d been with me since my first day of teaching. They were special and there was no way I was getting rid of them. They sat in our garage for years. Then, one day, my husband and I came up with a brilliant idea. This was before Pinterest, so we were really proud of ourselves for the idea. You can make a chair bench with only a few cuts of a saw and some drilling! It really was super simple, and was my first BIG GIRL power tools project!
