  • Wanting to build one too. Also would love to have plans.
By chicken man, on March 20, 2013

  • I also would like the plans to your cool coop.
By jlswanray, on March 20, 2013

  • Let me sit down and put together the plans and material used and I'll get it to ya'll. Sorry did most of it in my head and added and adjusted as I went. I can tell you I used various ideas from coops built by other chicken owners. If you go to www.backyardchickens.com and click on the coops link there are hundreds of coops and designs with a lot of the bloggers showing pictures, designs and materials used.

  • P.S. You can't see it in the picture, but I do have hardware cloth running along the bottom part of the coop, over the chainlink. I used cyclone/chainlink fencing mainly to protect from predators that can tear through chicken wire.

  • NICE JOB I am planing a rebuild of our coops now and am going to be doing a similar design.

  • Also would like to have plans. I have 12 Chickens and am increasing the flock slowly. Looks like I can use some materials I already have.

  • I am obviously not done yet. More pictures to come.
    By jrhop71, on March 7, 2013

  • Wow, very ambitious. I assume that there was some good timber to tie into around the perimeter. What is the size of the expanse? How did you lift the joists up level to attach? This project is obviously not for everyone! Kudos and looks awesome!

  • I changed a 3ft walk way to a 8ft x 13ft loft because no carpenters would. Secure side 2x10's plates and brace between with 2x8's & joist hangers. Tie it all together with plenty of deck screws and 3/4 " sub floor staggered sheeting. Vertical support of 2x8 on interior wall disguised as pillar .
