Cat Scratch Post/Corner Perch

I started working on this project with my Ryobi 18-Volt ONE+ 1/4in. Impact Driver, 18-Volt ONE+ Cordless Reciprocating Saw and some scrap wood and nylon rope to hopefully distract my cat from ripping my couch apart. I originally had planned to build a base out of plywood and add a short 4x4 post with rope wrapped around it as a scratching post. As the project began to come together, I thought I would put a little more effort into it with a perch on top to make it look nice. Then I grabbed a golf ball and pulled out a Ryobi drill bit and made it even more interesting. At this point I knew I needed to add the carpet to make it more appealing and cut the plywood to fit it nicely into a corner of my apartment so it wouldn't be in the way. Needless to say my cat loves it and I know I would have spent a whole lot more to buy this product in a pet store and it wouldn't be half as durable and interesting if I didn't have my great Ryobi ONE+ tools.
