My daughter needed a special size cabinet for her DVD player, Modem and Router so I made this cabinet out of reclaimed wood from a old entertainment unit that I had taken apart. I didn't use any plans for the project and this was my first attempt at building a piece of furniture. The center shelf is fixed but the upper and lower shelf's are adjustable. I drilled a 2inch hole in the back corner of each shelf for running cables and wires. I added stone accents (which I got free from a local tile store) to match my daughters other furniture. For added storage for remotes, etc., I made the top a flip up lid that's on hinges and put in a felt lined bottom. My total cost for hardware and supplies for the project was about $25.

  • That flip up top was a creative idea, Curt! Do you think you'll be making more furniture in the future?
