The buffet was designed and built to fit into an existing closet in our living room. It is constructed of clear pine and birch plywood. The face frames and carcasses are assembled using pocket screws. The drawers and sliding trays were built using dovetail joinery. The entire unit was primed and painted using an HVLP sprayer and latex enamel. The granite countertop was installed in the space above the cabinet base the base was slid into place and secured, the face frame installed and the granite lowered onto the base. Then the three upper cabinets were secured in place and the shelving and doors were installed, the lighting connected and we were ready to fill it up.
