Built-in Bookcases

I wanted to help fix up a room for a friend and we thought that a set of built- in bookcases would do nicely. I didn't really have any plans to work off of, just some basic measurements of what the dimensions of the area would be. I used a mix of assorted plywood as well as hard wood scraps from a cabinet shop. To give it a clean modern look, I went with a full overlay on the base cabinets, and routed hand pulls on the backs of the drawer fronts and doors to have a clean surface look. the bookshelves are bored for adjustable shelving. The laminate counter had to be built in place, and the cabinets had to be kept small since they had to go up three sets of stairs in an old townhouse to get to the study. Finishing was done with a paint sprayer, and then coated with varnish.
