When we moved in to our new house, we needed a place to store and serve my homebrew and a place to watch college football on Saturdays. This built in bar project is a great place for both!
I was able to purchase the materials at Home Depot. I used plywood and poplar to build the bar and used backsplash/wall tiles behind the glass shelving. All of the molding is stock from Home Depot. The puck lighting in on a three setting dimmer so the bar isn’t too bright when a game is on.
My Ryobi drill and impact driver were great for attaching the plywood to the frame and I used a Ryobi countersink to set the screws flush. Then I edged the plywood (and covered the screws) with poplar and routed the edges with the Ryobi Trim Router.
I had a buddy help me keep all the big pieces flush and level. He went to school at my alma mater’s rival so I kept him around to help with all the sanding too. Another friend turned and sealed the tap handles.
