I am a weekend diy'er who watches an inordinate amount of home improvement videos. My kids bathroom was old dingy and in disrepair. I decided to remove the old worn acrylic tub and replace it along with retiling the walls. After I removed the old tub and tiles, I realized I had a perfect opportunity to add a window to the bathroom to add natural light and update/change the plumbing. I added the window, leveled the floor, added the tub, attached the drain pipes and switched out old plumbing. I then drywalled. I tried the Kerdi/Schluter barrier, but ended up removing it and the Kerdi nook (which I changed the location of) as I couldn't get it to mortar on well. I then tiled (ugg - that fine work wore on my patience) and mortared. Finally I added the bath hardware and shower curtain. Once done I decided to add an sensing bath fan switch to protect my investment
