Bathroom Remodel

  • June 18, 2014

Shabby 40's bathroom was literally crumbling. With the exception of the cast iron tub was gutted and rebuilt. This project was full of challenges for a first time DIY'er including rewiring to add GFCI protection to entire bathroom and relocate the light switch which was behind the door. Added extra lighting including vanity lights, an automatic indiglo night light, and recessed light exhaust fan combo (which had to be exhausted out through roof since bathroom never had exhaust fan). Replaced Plumbing and rotten sub floor to accept a new water efficient toilet. Replaced old plumbing to add shut off valves and accept a single handle tub/shower faucet. Added custom wainscoting to the walls, a new recessed medicine cabinet mirrored inside and out and added a built in shampoo dispenser to the shower wall with remote line to the vanity for easy replacement of the empty shampoo bottles. This project would have taken FOREVER without the power and versatility of ALL my Ryobi power tools.
