Barn Wood Table

My girlfriend Molly and I were asked to make this table for a family friend. We live in Fairhope AL and back in 1979 hurricane Fredrick came through. We are only 19 so we were not born yet, but my dad recalled it to be a very strong storm. The Storm did damage to his house and he lost his entire baseball card collection including a Mickey Mantle card. Our family friend's dad pulled several long leaf pine trees, that he says were 100+ feet tall, out the sand that covered them. He took sections of the tree to a friend of his whom cut them into lumber. That lumber has been passed around ever since 1979 and the last remaining boards had been sitting in a barn covered in dust. We took the 3 remaining wide board and used them for the top. The rest of the boards were true 2x4s that we milled and glued together to form the table base. We loved every second of building this table.
