When we built our home here in Beavercreek Ohio it was immediately evident that we needed a barn to store mine and my Father-in-Laws (Norm) equipment. Now Norm's tools were the classic, old school type big saws, drawers full of crescent wrenches and socket sets...you can visualize the work bench! My equipment consisted of a John Deere 4200 yard tractor, a restored 1955 Farmall Cub and 2 ZTR mowers. Norm was hands on...I was 'ride on'. Our 40 x 20 barn was completed in 2002, absolutely beautiful and functional. When Norm passed in 2005, the barn became a catch all and the once impeccable organization was lost. This year I came back to the barn to bring it back to 'the way it was'. This time using modern, light weight Ryobi One+ tools. We built a new work bench, hung pegboard, built shelves and cabinets.....better than ever! This project started out at the easy level...but as we moved along and became comfortable with our new power tools we are adding new wish list items ( bike rack hooks, new lighting and a garage door opener...a Ryobi Garage System). Ryobi is making it easy and Dad would be proud.....and yes, we did donate his 'old school tools' to our local 'Goodwill' organization!
