This was my first big woodworking project, which I am very happy of how it turned out. It's amazing how long wood prep can actually take before you can actually start building a project! This project was inspired by a barn door headboard from Shanty-2-Chic with my own twist. All joints were made with pocketholes and an American Walnut stain was chosen to keep with the rustic feel and design of the headboard. My father, who is no longer with us, was a master carpenter, so he taught me the basics of woodworking. I think he would be proud of what his little girl can accomplish if she puts her mind to it!
