Pallet Faux Fireplace

We purchased our very first home last September (2015) and have been working to make it our cozy retreat ever since. We had a corner of our living room that was empty, except for some wall outlets on either side, but we couldn't seem to find the perfect piece to place there. That is, until we had the idea to use up a pallet some friends had given us! It is the first piece of 'furniture' that we have built together and was a fun learning experience (with a little help from Dad). We love the feeling it adds to the room and as a bonus, we are so excited to have a place to hang stockings this year! (The candles, of course, are LED and NOT real to keep things safe.)

  • This looks amazing! There's bound to be tons of copycat projects inspired from this one. Smart call on the LED candles, too! What did you use for the bricks- is that tile?

    • Thank you! And thank you for hosting such a fun contest in which to be able to share it. We actually used some leftover faux brick paneling from another project (it comes in a sheet and is what is being cut in the 8th photo). It was kind of crazy how it all came together and we finally found a use for those scraps along with the pallet!

  • This looks awesome! A few more tools needed than a hot glue gun - but worth the finished product!

    • Thanks! I guess I am progressing in my crafting/creating. These are the tools we use at the HD workshops and I really like them, so when I learned of this, thought it was at least worth a try! :)

  • Would you have a tutorial for this?

By gkbtigden, on September 7, 2017
    • Hello! Unfortunately, I do not have any type of tutorial handy. I made this project a while ago, however, I could probably still come up with some type of instructions, if interested.
