Plinth Blocks added to door trim

  • June 2, 2016

We replaced a window with a sliding glass door when we redid our deck, but the door trim job done by the contractor was less than stellar. The problem was that the existing baseboards were thicker than the new trim, and the transition between the two looked horrible. I added a plinth block to the bottom of the trim, which created a much nicer look. I used my Ryobi brad nailer to secure the plinth blocks and trim in place, then caulked and painted the trim for a seamless finish.
