Home Kitchen and Bathroom Renovation
A first time DIYer of this home renovation. The 1940s style kitchen and bathroom were completely gutted within the existing envelopes. I had the plumbing and electrical works replaced or upgraded. I re-designed and modernized the rooms, and performed much of the work with Ryobi power tools and accessories. The kitchen cabinets were knock-down packaged units that I assembled and installed. All trim work and cutting were done with a Ryobi 10" portable table saw, and all drilling and driving were handled by a Ryobi cordless 14.4-volt tool. The original 4-fixture bathroom was re-configured to 3 fixtures, eliminating the bathtub. As with the kitchen, the bathroom made use of Ryobi tools and accessories. Of note, the wood slats for the light grille above the bathroom medicine cabinets were done with the table saw. I completed all tile work with a 7" wet saw. The result of this renovation is a contemporary kitchen and bathroom with a significant increase in countertop area, cabinets, and storage volume. This was aided in no small part to the use of Ryobi tools. Kitchen and bathroom renovation took approximately 14 and 6 weeks to complete respectively.
