I had most tools on a pegboard rack on the wall near my workbench, and stored my clamps on one side of the bench. I found I was constantly having to move what I was working on the reach the pegboard, or I would reach under the side of the bench for the clamps and half of them would fall off the hooks.
I wanted to create a portable pegboard rack that could be rolled out of the way of the project I was working on, but still be handy.
I got the idea for the clamp rack from a woodworking tips book and online, and realized, it could be mounted on a sliding rail inside the pegboard rack. Tools can be stored on the pegboard on each side of the rack, and some of the less used tools can hang inside.
I also re-purposed a small plastic drawer unit to store drill bits and joining jigs.
