Hardwood Stairs DIY Project
I was asked/volunteered to replace carpeted stairs with hardwood stairs and risers and after looking at a few other DIY projects on here, I felt I was up to the task. I bought birch hardwood for the treads (to match the hardwood flooring on the 2nd floor) and used popular for the risers. I faced many challenges in the project in that I've never built hardwood treads from scratch so there was a lot of learning/mistakes I had to overcome (dealing with wood movement, clamping pressure, too much glue, etc). The tools used in this project were a table saw, miter saw, router, sander, glue, clamps and a lot of hard work. The reaction to the completed project has been overwhelmingly positive and I've already been asked to help a neighbor do the same project (lucky me).
Beautiful job, next time you want to volunteer, come on over! Wonderful finished project, you are very talented.
