My family decided to become a little more independent in the resources we use, and one of the easiest and most useful things we could think of was to build a garden. It was an easy choice for us, especially since our relative were farmers in the early 1900s. We wanted the ability to grow what we wanted and use it with as little reliance on others as possible. Our biggest obstacle was the actual building of the garden, where to put it, what to use, and how to put it all together. We had several plans for the garden, but ended up going with a fairly simple one. We have planted numerous vegetables and will be enjoying them later this summer including lettuce, tomatoes, eggplant, cucumbers and more! We have learned that as long as you can think it up, anything is possible with a little brainstorming, logistical solving, and of course, having the right tools.
