After buying our first house, my wife wanted to upgrade my old college TV stand. I had seen a plan in one of my Dad's woodworking magazines I liked. She agreed to it with a couple of minor changes. Since my tools were limited, I had to make it at my parents house. I decided on birch plywood for the case but wanted to use cherry as accent and the top. My Dad had plenty of cherry and I could not find 3/4" cherry plywood so I made the top from solid wood. The bottom shelves slid out for ease of accessing what is on them. With the use of many Ryobi tools including Dad's random orbital sander, cordless drill, trim router and sliding compound miter saw I was very happy with the result. The finish was one of my favorite parts since I had worked for a small but high quality furniture restoring company while going to high school. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
