Solar Power for electricity in the Barn.

This surplus photovoltaic panel now provides clean solar power to the barn. The panel produces 14 Volts DC and runs a 12 Volt AC Inverter. This allows me to power both plug-in corded tools and devices designed for a car's 12 VDC electrical system. The panel charges a car battery for night time and rainy day power.

The Ryobi drill was especially helpful in threading bolts onto the all thread I used to secure the panel to the roof. I also used the reciprocating saw, oscillating tool, and impact driver for various cutting and mounting.

There are some LED's wired into the system for illumination at night. These lights were originally designed to light up the bed of a pickup truck. If the battery is charged and there is no other load on the panel, a relay clicks on an the panel powers a re-purposed cooling fan from a computer.

Finally, I am re-charging my 18 Volt One+ batteries with solar power, so all me future projects will be Ryobi green.
