From Trash to Treasure

I love furniture and I absolutely hate seeing a piece being mistreated and neglected. I had seen this faded waterlogged table sitting outside a run down shop. I asked the man how much he wanted for it and he said to take it, he is going to throw it away. I carry the rickety table to my vehicle as the legs wobble back and forth. I heard my husband behind me "What do you think you're doing with that junk?". I replied back, I am going to bring life back to it. I was extremely determined as I have never seen a table so interesting before. I suppose my eyes are the eyes of a woodworker and carpenter. I can see beyond the dirt and rotten wood and I can visualize what it will look like once I am finished. Let me tell you I am a black sheep with others my age. I am 34 years old, wife of 18 years and attended college for Carpentry Occupations-Associates Degree. Back to the table. It required paint stripper, sanding, gluing, staining, and new laminate. This project was easy but time consuming as removing the old paint and sanding had to be done carefully without damaging the wood.
