Bamboo hardwood floor
My husband and I realized we needed to replace our old family room carpet. We took a trip to Home Depot and the person in flooring convinced us we could put in a true hardwood floor ourselves. We chose the bamboo floor for looks and price. I took out the old carpet, padding and tack strips one night he was gone. There was no going back. He carefully saved the old baseboard and made sure the floor was flat. We put down the felt with a staple gun and broke out our Ryobi tools. He started with the Ryobi miter saw to cut the pieces to length. After re-reading the manufactures instructions we used our Air Strike Ryobi nailer to start the first row. He tried it on the second and third rows and decided to use it for the entire job. The trickiest part was getting the new floor under the door jambs in the closet. The Ryobi multi tool cut the jambs to the perfect length. After a couple of long evenings and a short weekend, we had probably 15-18 hours and a beautiful new floor.
That looks really nice. Good job!
Thanks, I enjoyed the project. The best part was I got to do the nailing without my husband's comments. I made him do all the cutting, so he was out of the room.
Two perfectionists are sometimes better than one. I'm sure it was a team collaboration and your husband's contribution didn't go unappreciated. Good luck on future projects, and keep us all updated!
