Inspired by the C-man boombox by Artpentry, I decided to make my own version using a Husky tool box that I had. I picked up some bookshelf speakers, an amp, some 3/4 mdf, some poplar and went to work. I used my new Ryobi airstrike brad nailer (Awesome!) to assemble the mdf portion of the box then I cut the speaker/port holes out of poplar using a circle jig and router. I re-used the existing port tubes, banana plugs, and wiring from the bookshelf speakers on the new box. I extended the volume, treble, and bass knobs from the lepai amp then mounted them where the old Husky logo was. The toolbox was left unfinished so it would hopefully develop a natural patina over time. I love the industrial look of this boombox and I hope you like it too.
This would make a cool tackle box as well!!
That looks great!!!
