Rustic Reclaimed Barn wood Deck Cooler

This project I thought about for some time before tackling, it was very important for my wife and I as business owners of a reclaimed barn wood furniture business to build this with reclaimed wood. In this case mostly barn wood and a pallet we found as well as some old door hinges, some rebar and some other wonderful scrapyard finds. I think this is a great way to dress up any old cooler you may have laying around, and it looks great on a deck or any tailgate party. This is a great weekend project or just dedicate a few weekday nights to it and celebrate by filling it with ice. The cap catcher under the opener was an after thought, but a great bonus. Ended up doing a tung oil and beeswax finish. I put the step by step and several more detail photos on my blog http://lotuswoodcrafts.blogspot.com/search?updated-min=2012-01-01T00:00:00-08:00&updated-max=2013-01-01T00:00:00-08:00&max-results=11 and my facebook pagehttps://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.370026203046579.77796.194648160584385&type=3
