Upcycled Antique Window Shadowbox Table
This is an easy and beautiful way to add that wow factor to your living room, bedroom, etc.
I got some old widows that were taken out of a 100 year old house and made this simple project for my wife.
I used 3/4 birch for the bottom of the table, pine for the sides, store bought ready-made table legs - unfinished, h-hinges and a handle, all bought from Home Depot.
I cut the 2x6's for the sides at 17 1/2", the front and back were cut at 27" and I just used wood screws to make a box to fit under my window for the top. I measured the inside of my box for the measurements for the birch bottom and attached it with wood screws as well.
I attached the legs, which were the 15", Colonial American, by just threading them into the square mounting brackets made for the legs. I attached the h-hinges to the back of the window and the back of the box and then added the handle to the front of the window.
I sanded the whole table, painted it with white, flat paint and then sanded certain spots again to give the table the antiqued appearance.
I hope you enjoy!
