We constructed this plain pine casket with rope handles. It is simpler than some of our other models.

I forgot to add that I used my Ryobi biscuit joiner to join together the side and end pieces.

Looks great. I need to build one like that for me.
AZHawg SAYS Mar 30, 2013. 07:11 PM
Did you use 1X8s for the sides and top?
Jonny SAYS Mar 31, 2013. 09:59 AM
I use whatever happens to be the most cost effective whenever I go to purchase lumber. We own and operate Nocona Casket Company (on Facebook), you can see us on Facebook. So we check prices to see where we can cut costs all the time. On that particular unit, I used 1x12s on the sides and 1x8s on the top.

That's really cool. I've built Halloween caskets but never a REAL one!

Thanks Evil Bob! You can build your own and save it for when the time comes. Or you can find someone like us who builds them. It is a job that I really enjoy!
