I've been making bowls for about 10 years since a friend gave me one for a retirement gift. As my skills progressed I kept getting a little more extreme with each project using my Ryobi hand held planer, bench sander and hand drills. Bowl is bloodwood and curly maple. Lid is curly maple, maple burl, cherry and brass. Handle is bloodwood, maple, brass and light dot in center is mammoth tusk from Alaska. The bowl has 12 coats of hand-rubbed lacquer and took about 150 hours.
This is the finest turning I ever saw. What workmanship!
My goodness that's gorgeous!!!! My Grandpa used to turn bowls- I have inherited them, and they are the first thing that I would grab should my house catch fire! WOW....just stunning!
Lovely! True work of art.
