    • Form and function! How did you come up with this design?
By RYOBI Nation, on September 6, 2017

    • The design came to me over time. I wanted to incorporate repurposed materials and I wanted the storage function to be original and practical.

    • Such a fun and intricate project! Turned out great!
By RYOBI Nation, on July 14, 2017

    • I love these. Any detailed instructions for those of us just starting out?
By julianne, on July 17, 2017

    • I didn't use any plans, but the idea is very simple. Decide what size/dimensions you want and frame up a simple box. Measure the outside width of the surface and cut thin slats that width then stagger them. I use wood glue and brad nails. For the inside the lighting is entirely up to your imagination. I use copper wire led wrapped around wooden dowels. I have a bigger one here with better pictures that can give you an idea of how to make one.

    • Nicely done, the hidden storage is really cool. I love the finish you have on both of these, it really complements them. Can you share what type of finish you applied?
      By grover959, on March 29, 2017

    • I used Sedona red and golden pecan stain. Before staining I sanded each piece with 60, 80, then 120 grit sandpaper. I let the stained pieces sit overnight then applied polyurethane.

    • Great Project! Gave me the idea what I could build for my brand new home's mud room. This looks great. Like to see the plans.
      By user_rocha_540114, on March 29, 2017

    • I didn't use any plans, just some rough sketches. Basically the back and seat are panels. I chose the lumber based on the width. I built the basic box for the bottom and placed the panels for the seat and the back. Seat height is something you'll want to consider if it's for adults, this sits low as it was built for children.

    • Awesome! Another cool way to do alternating stain colors. This is a great idea for a gift.
By RYOBI Nation, on March 28, 2017

    • What were the dimensions used for each piece?
      By szuch03, on March 28, 2017

    • 7 inches wide by 5 inches tall roughly - the length needs to be about two or three inches longer than the total length of your wine bottle, you want some wiggle room.
By ChefEvans, on March 28, 2017

    • Gosh how cute love the colors. What type of wood is that?
