Shorter Frame Pieces.
Attach in an L shape two 37-1/2” long 1x2s together. Build two of these. Use 1-1/4” brad nails and wood glue. TIP: Use scrap 1x2s as spacers under the unsupported side of the piece you are nailing into.
Longer Frame Pieces.
Attach the longer frame pieces to the shorter frame pieces with 1-1/4” brad nails and glue.
Attach back supports to longer frame side pieces with glue and nails.
Longer Moulding Pieces
Using the 12” moulding pieces as guides, nail the longer moulding pieces to all back support boards with 1-1/4” brad nails and glue.
Smaller Moulding Pieces
Finally attach the smaller mouldign pieces in between the larger moulding pieces, using pieces not yet attached as guides. Use 1-1/4” brad nails and glue.
Sand the project using 120 grit sandpaper. For a finer finish, work downward in sanding grits.
Stain or Paint
Paint or stain the frame. TIP: It may also be easier to add hanging hardware at this step.
Glue Mirrors On
Once the paint or stain has completely dried, read directions on the mirror mastic, and use to attach mirrors to the frame. Let dry.
Hang and enjoy!
Note: This mirror can be hung using a picture hanging kit suitable for up to 50 lbs or larger. Do not hang from the 1x2 at 51-3/4" long.
