DIY Bar Cart

Learn how to make a DIY Bar Cart, perfect for any space!

  • Step 1

    Cut the boards using a miter saw. Cut 1" by 12" and 1" by 2" oak boards into pieces that are 32" long.

  • Step 2

    Drill holes into the oak. Screw 90 degree elbow fittings on either side of an 8" long piece of 1/2" diameter pipe. Use this assembly to trace the location of the holes on one of the 1" x 12" oak boards.

  • Step 3

    Sand the oak using an orbital sander with 220-grit sand paper.

  • Step 4

    Stain the oak using a polishing rag to apply a single coat of Danish oil.

  • Step 5

    Insert the wood dowels into the pipefittings. Cut some short pieces of 7/8" diameter dowel to fit inside iron pipe reducing couplings that went from ¾" diameter on one end to ½" on the other.

  • Step 6

    Thread the short 1 1/2" long pipes through the drilled holes, then sandwhich the oak boards witht couplings on either side.

  • Step 7

    Screw in handle.

  • Step 8

    Drill holes in the dowels then insert the stems of the bronze casters. Add additional screws through the mounting plates on the casters and into the dowels.
