100 Year Old Organ Converted to Phonograph Cabinet
I found an antique 100 year old organ at a thrift store for $40. It barely played a sound and needed major repairs. The designs are hand carved and the history of such an old item is nostalgic. I could not bare the thought of trashing it, so I came up with a design to make a cabinet out of it for a phonograph my wife had recently purchased. I saved as much of the major designs on the organ as possible and used as much of the wood as I could. The cabinet is made entirely from the organ. I also made a matching checker board from a leftover piece of wood from the front of the organ and the checkers were made on the lathe. I finished it off with a fresh coat of stain and it's now a beautiful 100 year old cabinet for our furniture collection.
Congrats on the win...
