Stone Paradise

My wife and I purchased this house and the back yard was slopped really steep and a mess. I decided to get rid of the grass inside the fenced area and make a partial covered patio with a view. I removed the grass, rerouted the sprinklers, using the existing outside faucet I installed a 4 way valve and ran a PVC water line to the grill station, and 1 PVC to the future ceiling for a misting system. The grass was removed and 8 tons of dirty sand was leveled to raise the rear of the yard to about a 2 inch drop across the 25 foot from the back door to the fence. I poured and finished 6.5 yrds of concrete and that day was a record heat wave for TX 121 degrees. Installed a footing and a 2 foot retaining wall to make a 2x2x2 garden as the perimeter of the entire fence. I poured 4 12"x24" footings for my porch beam supports. Welded a 4x6 I beam to the top of 4 3x3 square posts A 12 x 22 vaulted ceiling was installed, 2.5 tons of Colorado River Rock was delivered, took me about a 3 days to lay them. on that wall... UGH. To save cost purchased 3 - 2x5 cream lime stone caps then using a dry stone saw blade cut them into 8inch strips. Filled the garden with local dirt and then peat moss and top soil. used 1 of the sprinkler zones for the garden & installed a micro dripper system. saves a ton in water costs. My wife & I now have a back yard with a view. total cost was 4200.00
