There was a small poorly designed bathroom on the second floor of our house. I gutted it down to the studs and floor joists and redesigned the 5’x7’ space to feel a whole lot bigger. I did away with the shower wet wall altogether and installed a small vintage claw foot tub which I refinished, and added a wall mount faucet. I used a pedestal sink for a smaller footprint and to keep the vintage feel. I replaced the standard size door with a 24” door so that it would clear the tub. I put in wainscoting and trim as well as additional lighting above the medicine cabinet and a dimmer over the bathtub. I had done smaller projects around the house but this was my first major renovation. Being an newbie to DIY home improvement Ryobi tools fit my budget and did the job. The pic is a before and after.
