New, and safer TV stand

My wife and I had a child last year, and I have read stories on the "safety" or lack there of, with these New Flat televisions, and how small children are pulling them over on top of themselves, so I was reading an article in Family Handyman magazine, which was about the homemade TV stand...so I decided to try it...despite my minimal experience in building furniture. I have to say, it is turning out as well as I had hoped....

You did a great job despite your minimal experience in building furniture. Where did you get your plans from? I'd love to know because I love this cabinet. What are the safety features? I'd love to know more about how to build this. Again, great job!

Thanks Petey...I saw the plan in an issue of Family handyman magazine...link is here... http://www.familyhandyman.com/woodworking/projects/diy-tv-stand/view-all
Fairly simple to build, I am going to add a cable to the wall to connect the TV, so my kids dont tip it over on top of themselves. Let me know if any more questions...Good luck!!

What kind of wood? My wife is the stain guru so I'll ask her.

The plan uses oak, I preferred Maple, so it is Maple...
