Pool Deck

Wife and kids really wanted a deck around the pool. I've never built anything that big but figured I'd give it a shot. Used composite decking that I had gotten for free due to a manufacture error. I saved it from becoming part of a landfill. The railings are 2x2 and 2x4 cedar with 4x4 cedar posts. The skirt and door are cedar fence pickets.Frame is pressure treated lumber. I also built access doors on backside of deck for storage. I honestly wanted to just build the deck on the left. Wife didn't like the fact that it was in the shade most of the time. She insisted I build the one on the right so she can lay out in the sun. I built both and connected them together. Nothing was pre made or no prints did I go off of, just had to follow local building code. This was just a giant pile of lumber to begin with. Thanks to my Ryobi Tools, this project went quite nicely. You can just tell by using these tools the quality along with an unbeatable price. I'd put my Ryobi tools against any others, with confidence!

I can imagine having a margarita on that deck.

All the decking on this is composite. A friend of a friend had given it to me. He had complained to the maker about it fading so they built him a new deck. I just have to stain it, best thing is it'll never rot.
