Kitchen Update will have us eating good again!

It started with my son-in-law asking why I wasn't cooking as much...I had
recently moved. So I told him that I didn't like being in my kitchen,
I loved cooking (especially for him, as he loves to eat!)...but just
couldn't muster the enjoyment of cooking in the ugly kitchen. He said he
had a deal to make with me. We would work together and give the kitchen a
makeover if I would start cooking again. So we came
up with a kitchen update design. I wanted a tile backsplash (see picture
below), and decided
to put molding on the cabinet doors. I was
bold and designed the use all 3 colors on the cabinets, doors, trims, drawers.
Important: Bring all those color swatches home, because the light in your
kitchen is very different from the light in the store-colors will look different.
We worked together (I did all the painting); he used all the power tools (the cabinet molding
needed to be custom cut - the Ryobi did an excellent job! and tiles for
the backsplash needed to be cut). I got a beautiful
kitchen! Many meals for our family will made in there. I'm
entering this contest because my son-in-law had all the tools he needed, except a tile-cutter.
I would love to win so I could surprise him with
one for Christmas and a promise of many homemade pies!

Please forgive me if I get some of the tools below wrong. He used an electric (miter?) saw for the trim pieces-exact angles, drills for the screws, and a tile saw.

The 2nd picture is the original kitchen (30+ years old) that we started with. Isn't it drab, nobody would feel like cooking in there! I'm ready to cook now!
