Hurricane Proof Gable Roof Shed

This 12' wide x 20' long x 15' high shed was pronounced the Taj Mahal of sheds by the city building code inspector. All sheds of this type must pass hurricane standards of the State of FL. It is hurricane-strapped at every junction of wood to wood, which means all studs are strapped to all plates, all plates are huuricane- strapped to either the roof trussses or the floor joists, etc. The entire building is 5000# hurricane-strapped to eight, four-foot screw anchors. I used pressure treated 2x8's for the floor joists, 2x4's for wall studs, 2x6's for the celing joists, and 2x4's for the self-constructed trusses. The exterior walls ar covered with TI-II sidfing. The gable roof allows for a spacious 12' x 20' x 6' attic. The Anderson doors are steel with Schlage door knob and dead bolt locks. The shed has 60 amps of electric service. I spent 6 months building this project, and yes, would do it again.
