Two Level Deck Project

This was to be a deck added on to our house. The deck material used was TimberTech Floorizon decking, BuilderRail railing and top rail of TwinFinish all in gray. I designed the deck and had no problem in getting the design approved by our county building inspector. I also did all the work myself. The supporting structure is pressure-treated with concrete footers. The deck skirt board is fastened to the poured concrete walls of the house on two sides. Overall project is about 400 sq ft with a 12 ft x 12 ft island set down 7 1/2 inches from the main deck elevation. Included was a patio and walk made with pavers. The basic deck is 14 ft x 20 ft with a step down 12 ft x 12 ft section with clipped corners in the far end, Including the wood, composite decking, gravel, sand, pavers and stone for the sitting wall I moved about 55,000 pounds of materials from my front driveway to the backyard to complete this project. I moved all this with a wheelbarrow so my lawn would not be torn up.
