3 Rail Split Post and Rail Fence

We enclosed a 66' x 44' area of our backyard with a post and rail fence. It was erected within our already-existing yard to create an area that we felt was more inviting as a backyard rather than our current one which really didn't have a feeling of a backyard, but rather an endless area of trees, leaves, rocks, etc. The existing surrounding fence will be removed as it has deteriorated slowly over the past 25 years. We used 11' cedar rails along with 6' cedar posts, and 2 single gates to access the outer part of the backyard and the driveway area of our home. Holes for the posts were dug using posthole diggers and we also used a pinch bar to loosen and remove large rocks from these holes. Once this was done, the posts were set using Sakrete Ready Mix. Some of the cedar rails had to be custom-cut using a small chainsaw and we used a laser level so that we had a visually attractive fence when we were done. With 3 of us working it took approximately 6 hours to install. The Ryobi drill came in very handy for installing the hardware on the gates. We love our new fence...it gives our home a new country feel!

Thank you! It was so nice to see the end result as it was needed so desperately.
